Going into a job interview can be scary, especially if you’re not quite sure what to expect. That’s why Burnett’s Staffing works individually with all of our candidates to ensure that they are well informed and prepared for the interview.
Before your interview, you will have a one-on-one meeting with your coordinator, who will make sure you have all the information and materials you need for a successful interview. He or she will give you specific information about the the company and the person you will be interviewing with, as well as information on what to expect from the company in general.
Your coordinator will also help you determine appropriate interview attire and go over some important interview dos and don’ts, such as:
Do: be interested in the interview, company, and person you are interviewing with Do: Be prepared – do your homework Do: Exude self confidence and be personable Do: Thank them at the end Do: be kind to everyone, including Receptionists, those who greet you, and any others you encounter prior to your interview Don’t: rely totally on your resume Don’t: be nervous Don’t: go on a tangent or tell unrelated stories or wander away from the subject Don’t: be derogatory or make negative remarks about previous employers or others
Your coordinator will also have a custom presentation folder ready for you to take to the interview, which will include your resume printed on good quality resume paper; an introduction of you to the client; directions to the interview location; and the date and time of your appointment.
In addition to the advice and presentation materials, your coordinator will provide with one more important thing to help you with your interview: encouragement!
